Köllen Loop is much more than just a clothes rack; it is a design experience that is inspired by the growth and regeneration of nature. As the name suggests, Köllen Loop begins where it ends, reflecting a continuous cycle that symbolises the ability to grow and adapt, both in its functionality and life cycle, adhering to the principles of cradle to cradle (C2C). The best way to be sustainable is to imitate nature. Nothing is wasted. The residue of one system is nutrient for another.
Since its inception, Köllen Loop has been nourished by the organic growth of Scandinavian trees, integrating the principles of scandinavian minimalist design, which seeks beauty in simplicity and functionality. The creative process began with the idea of achieving a functionally organic product, inspired by nature’s ability to grow and adapt to its environment. In this respect, Köllen Loop is an example of slow furniture, a piece of furniture designed to last, made with sustainable materials and designed to evolve over time. It can be modular, grow and adapt to users and the spaces where it is located, and its hangers can rotate 360º, allowing for versatile and customizable use.
The dynamic structure allows the product to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of its users. This means that the life cycle of the furniture can be significantly extended, avoiding waste and promoting sustainability.
Köllen Design’smain challenge in creating Loop was to innovate in a field traditionally dominated by fixed and rigid structures. The aim was to introduce the concepts of “dynamism and adaptability” into the field of furniture design, generating an active interaction between the product and the user. This pragmatic and aesthetic approach results in a hybrid between industrial functionality and aesthetics, offering a practical, simple and coherent solution.
Köllen Loop is a reflection of simplicity and functionality, combined with dynamism and careful finishing. It is a piece of furniture that not only responds to the needs of the user, but also evolves with them, creating a unique and lasting relationship; it is a conscious and adaptable design statement, inspired by nature, created to last and faithful to the principles of slow furniture and modular furniture.
